MACCULLOUGH -- ANN WINSLOW Age 74 of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on March 16, 2011. "Most people feel they can't make an impact, but I don't believe that's true. I believe that wherever we are, we should make that place the best we can." Born and raised in Washington D.C., Ann attended Towson State Teachers College, in Towson, MD and worked for the General Accounting Office in Washington, D.C. for ten years before she married and started a family. After moving to San Diego, she worked as Director of the YMCA Family Options Program and later as Director of Marketing and Membership Services for the Downtown YMCA, while pursuing her passion of community involvement and leadership. She served on many local and state boards and commissions including: Friends of the Library; the City of San Diego Board of Library Commissioners; the Commission for Arts & Culture and the Commission on the Status of Women, among others. Ann was a graduate of LEAD and alumnus of the year 1990. A strong believer in the preservation of open space, she was involved in the creation of the Mission Trails Regional Park in San Diego, CA. She later chose to make her home in Albuquerque, NM, due to of her love of Native American culture and arts and of course, the beautiful Sandia Mountains. Her love of the arts made her a strong supporter of the Santa Fe Opera and the New Mexico Symphony. Grateful for the care she received there, Ann later gave back the New Mexico Cancer Center by volunteering in her spare time. Ann is survived by her daughter, Sharin MacCullough Greenleaf and husband, Richard Greenleaf Jr. of San Jose, CA; son, Craig Andrew MacCullough of San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Declan and Emma Greenleaf; sisters, Mary Winslow Buckingham of Kensington, MD, and Karen Winslow and husband, Michael McGovern of Glen Ridge, NJ; nephews, Kenneth Buckingham, Mark Buckingham and Christopher Buckingham; nieces, Anna McGovern and Elisa McGovern.
