Jack Liebermann, throughout nearly 59 years of marriage, Rosalind was her husband's high school sweetheart and their love spanned nearly 70 years. In addition to her husband, Rosalind is survived by her three children and their spouses Hedy (Frank) Barton of North Canton, Connecticut, Joshua (Eileen) Lieberman of Vernon, Connecticut, and Raphael (Merris Weber) Lieberman of Los Angeles, California. She is also survived by her adored granddaughter, Melanie Lieberman, of Vernon, CT and Boston, MA. Rosalind was predeceased by her sister, Toby Schwarz, of Philadelphia, PA, and Los Angeles, CA. Rosalind and Jack married on June 14, 1953, and she began her married life in Philadelphia and also lived in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, before moving with her husband and three small children to Los Angeles. Jack and Rosalind lived in the Los Feliz section of Los Angeles for many years. She worked as a primary school teacher and was one of the original program designers of the deaf and hard of hearing program in the Los Angeles Unified School District. In 1994, Rosalind and Jack visited New Mexico and fell in love with the state. They relocated to New Mexico in 1995 and enjoyed living in Albuquerque for nearly 17 years. Throughout her life, Rosalind was an accomplished cook and enjoyed entertaining and preparing meals for her family and friends. With her husband, Rosalind also pursued other passions, including viewing and acquiring art. She was an avid reader and a serious student of medieval history. Shortly after moving to Albuquerque, Rosalind researched and wrote a historical novel about pre-medieval Europe and the Franks. In later life, she studied German, wrote poetry and enjoyed membership in the SouthWest Writers, an Albuquerque-based organization devoted to helping both published and unpublished writers improve their craft and further their careers. There were few pastimes that Rosalind enjoyed more than the intellectual stimulation of a challenging crossword puzzle and she was seldom without one close at hand. Throughout the three years of her illness, Rosalind continued to savor and enjoy life with optimism, grace and humor. Her good days - of which there were many -- were regarded as gifts. She accepted her more challenging days with patience and equanimity. Rosalind is greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. A Memorial and Remembrance of her life will be held for family and friends at the Lieberman/Liebermann home on Saturday, April 28, at 1:00 PM.
