MONTOYA -- ANTONIO J. "TONY" Age 85, a lifelong resident of San Pedro, joined our Heavenly Father peacefully on Friday, November 25, 2011 following a short illness. He was born January 2, 1926 in Durango; CO. Tony was a long time member of the Cofradia de la Santisma Trinidad of Santa Cruz, served honorably in the United States Army during WWII. He retired from the Los Alamos National Laboratory after more than 40 years of service; he was also a well known Federal and State Tax preparer. He was a long time Republican; he held several leadership positions in the State Party including Rio Arriba County Republican Chairman for several terms. He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonia and Ernesto Montoya; brothers: Ernesto, Frank and Augustine "Smokey" Montoya; sister, Mary Quintana. Mr. Montoya is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Aurora V. Montoya of San Pedro; children, Demetrio "Tito" Montoya and wife Barbara, Eileen Alarid of Albuquerque, Anthony Montoya of Rio Rancho, Kathy Romero and husband Alfred of Albuquerque, Sam Montoya of La Mesilla, Gilbert Montoya and wife Judy of Albuquerque, Kevin Montoya and wife Stephanie of Peralta; brother, Benito S. Montoya of Santa Fe; sister, Nettie Maestas of Dallas, Texas; and numerous other relatives and friends. Public Visitation will begin on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. at la Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada. Burial to follow at 2:15 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Dominic, Gerrid, Jemuel and Samuel Montoya, Michael Alarid and Alejandro Romero. Honorary pallbearers named; Jennifer Kean, Mariana Roybal, Marlina Montoya, Kelby Laabs, Kendra Van Tiem and the Cofradia de la Santisima Trinidad de Santa Cruz. The family of Antonio J.
