MONTANO -- DIEGO JR. (YEYE) Passed away peacefully on October 14, 2011. He was born on December 28, 1923 into a family descended from original Spanish settlers and was an heir of the Atrisco Land Grant. He is survived by three sisters, Toni Gabaldon (husband Albert), Kathryn Chavira, and Connie Nuanes, as well as many nieces and nephews. Diego was preceded in death by his father, Diego Montano Sr; his mother, Josefita Saavedra Montano; his brother, Roman Montano; two brothers-in-law, Ralph Chavira and Danny Nuanes; and his cousin and best friend, Rumaldo Montano Jr. Cremation has occurred. Interment and Graveside Services, officiated by Rev. Gerry Steinmetz of Holy Family Parish, will be in the gated cremains area of San Jose de Armijo Cemetery (El Campo Santo), 2957 Arenal Rd SW, on Tuesday, November 15th at 11:00 am.
