INSANI -- MARIO J. Passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2011. Born and raised in Marlborough, Massachusetts, he enlisted in the US Air Force upon graduating from high school. He received a bachelor's degree from Boston University and a master's degree from Columbia University. An avid athlete, he then returned to the Air Force in civil service as an athletic director. While working in Germany, he met his wife, Anita, who he married in 1957. They moved to Albuquerque in 1970, where he worked at Kirtland AFB as an athletic director until his retirement in 1987. Mario is survived by his wife, Anita; son, Michael Insani and his wife, Reesea; daughter, Delphine Insani; brothers, Raymond Insani, John Insani and his wife, Inge, and Robert Insani and his wife, Renate; sisters, Elenor Testa, and Rita De Mattia and her husband, Charles; granddaughters, Breanna Insani and Melanie Insani; and many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2011, 10:30 a.m., at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, Lomas and Tennessee; In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 811 Guaymas Place NE, Albuquerque, NM 87108.
