CASTLEMAN -- DOLORES JARVIS Age 87, a resident of Albuquerque since 1929 died on Friday, July 15, 2011. She was born on November 20, 1923 in Lubbock, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Jewell L. (Bob) Castleman in 2001. She is survived by her sister, Shirley Kaiser of Taos, New Mexico; brother, Leigh Jarvis and his wife, Beverly of Deming, New Mexico; children, Gary Castleman and wife, Susie of Windsor, Colorado, Ron Castleman and wife, Madonna of Rexford, Montana, and Linda Alsup and husband, Jerry of Albuquerque, New Mexico; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She traveled with her three young children by train and military transport to join her husband for a three year tour of Air Force duty in Germany in 1953. It was a two week journey that required courage and determination uncommon to young women in today's world. She continued to show this kind of fierce commitment and true grit throughout her years, including 30 years of supporting an Air Force family. Her children feel blessed to have had a mother as loving and caring during many difficult times. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Friends may visit French ~ Wyoming Chapel on Sunday, July 17, 2011, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery on Monday, July 18, 2011, 1:45 p.m. Pallbearers will be Gary Castleman, Ron Castleman, Jerry Alsup, Dennis Romero, Ryan Romero, and Travis Romero.
