SCHROLL -- OSCAR M. LT COMMANDER, RETIRED United States Navy Age 101, born September 6, 1909 to Edwin and Amanda Schroll in York County, Pennsylvania, and died March 23, 2011 in Albuquerque, where he resided since 1952. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Elsie of the family home; daughter, Elaine Sheldon and husband Garrett; grandchildren: Gwendolyn Burtness and husband Axle, Peter Sheldon all of Virginia; and numerous other relatives and friends. Oscar was preceded in death by his son Larry Schroll, two infant children, and six siblings. Mr. Schroll served in the United States Navy during WW II and then worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Sandia National Labs while still serving in the US Navy Reserve, and held leadership positions in the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. Mr. Schroll was affiliated with the Masonic Lodge, York Rite Bodies and the Ballud Abyad Shrine. Oscar and Elsie have been active members of Covenant Presbyterian Church where a memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial has taken place at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
