VIGIL -- Moises L. Vigil, Master Sergeant, USAF retired. Moises L. Vigil passed away peacefully on May 14, 2011 at the age of 75. He was born on February 26, 1936 to Santiago and Viola Vigil in Guadalupita, NM where he was raised. Soon after graduating from Mora High School, he joined the United States Air Force in 1955. He served with honor for 23 years before he retired in 1978 after two tours in Vietnam and serving overseas in S. Korea, Germany, Greenland and many other posts all over the world. He was not only our beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend, but a hero to our great nation and to all that knew him. He is survived by his second wife of 38 years, Sung D. Vigil and three children, Cpl. Benjamin J. Vigil USMC (inactive), Doris McCallie, Anthony Vigil; and four children with first wife, Patricia Vigil of 13 years, Sgt. Larry Vigil US Army (inactive), Tommie H. Vigil, Debbie Garcia, Spec-4 Lisa Y. Vigil US Army (inactive); 12 grandchildren; and 11 great- grandchildren. A Rosary service will be held Friday, May 27, 2011 at 5pm in the Our Lady of Most Holy Rosary Church 5415 Fortuna Road, NW ABQ, NM 87105. A private service will be held at Guadalupita Cemetery Saturday May 28, 2011.
