BLACK -- Michael Joseph Black.Dr. Michael Joseph Black, 30, Pharm.D of Albuquerque, passed away on May 9, 2011. He was born in Albuquerque on May 8, 1981 to Chock Black and Patricia Frigerio Black. Michael graduated from Grants High School in 1999. He graduated as Salutatorian, when he received his Doctorate of Pharmacology from the University of New Mexico in 2007. He was employed by Costco and the Apothecary Pharmacies at the time of his death. He was an avid Denver Broncos fan; he enjoyed sports, the outdoors, and his Jeep. He will best be remembered as a fun loving and extremely generous person. He was passionate about helping his patients and was known to pay for prescriptions for those that could not afford them. He was devoted to his parents, brothers and his entire family; he was loved and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his parents, Chock and Patricia of the family home in Grants; brothers, Matthew James Black, and Nicholas Justin Black, both of Albuquerque; grandparents, Marilyn Black and Margaret Lopez, both of Grants and Gerald Crespin of Bloomfield; uncle, Vince Frigerio Jr. of Showlow, AZ.; aunts, Anitra Perez and her husband Bert of Albuquerque, Jessica Crespin of California, Elena Crespin of Albuquerque and Jennifer Black of Grants; cousins, Bernadette Frigerio, Bryanna Frigerio, Justin Perez, and Alexis Perez; and numerous other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Jimmy Lee Black and Vince Frigerio. A Memorial Rosary was held on Thursday May 12, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. led by Deacon Timoteo Lujan at St. Teresa Catholic Church in Grants. On Friday, May 13, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. also at St. Teresa, Very Reverend Alberto Avella will celebrate a Memorial Mass. Placement of the cremated remains will take place later. A reception will be held after services at the Grants Milan Elks Lodge. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Matthew Black, Nicholas Black, Vince Frigerio Jr., Gerald Crespin, Bert Perez, Justin Perez, Brad Rodgers, Rex Soumpholphakdy, Carl Lucero, Chris Trujillo, Josh James, Dave Sharpnack, Zach Gutierrez, Adam Archibeque, Anthony Gutierrez, Jennifer Black, Martin Garcia, and Mike Sanchez Memorial contributions may be made to any Wells Fargo Bank to the Michael Joseph Black Memorial Scholarship fund.
