STALHEIM -- Clifton B. Stalheim, 84, a 22 year resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, April 26, 2011. Clif was born to Andrew and Irene Stalheim in Capron, IL. He was an only child. He grew up on the family farm and in the small town of Capron. Clif graduated from Capron High School where he was an athlete and attended Concordia College in Morehead, MN. After three years, he transferred to Beloit College in Beloit, WI and graduated with a bachelor's degree. On August 25, 1949 he married Barbara Loy in Kalispell, MT. Clif and Barb and their four kids, Christine, Janelle, Adria, and Daniel lived in northern Illinois for many years. Clif taught in the Harlem School District in Loves Park, IL. Toward the end of his career he pioneered the WECEP program which worked with troubled youth to dramatically increase their graduation rate. He was especially proud of this accomplishment. After retirement in 1989 Clif and Barb moved to Albuquerque, NM. Clif loved the west in general and Albuquerque specifically. He and Barb made many good friends in their time in Albuquerque. Clif became a rabid Lady Lobo fan and had season tickets for many years. He was an avid gardener and loved feeding the birds in his back yard. Clif is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara; daughters Christine Leyba, MD of Napa, CA, Janelle Stalheim of Beloit, WI and Adria Holbeck of Mill Valley, CA; son, Daniel Stalheim of Janesville, WI; grandchildren Julie Leyba-Sigourney of Lawrence, KS, Alexandria Brandenburg of Janesville, WI, Kassandra Stalheim of Janesville, WI, Matthew Holbeck of Sioux Falls, SD and Kayla Holbeck of Washington, D.C.; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Ethan and Teegan Sigourney of Lawrence, KS and Cayden, Harper, and Ramsey Brandenburg of Janesville, WI. A small memorial service was held on Friday, April 29, 2011 at All Saints Lutheran Church in Albuquerque. The family requests that any memorials be directed to the American Heart Association, P. O.
