MARSHALL -- Elaine Young Marshall, beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, and special friend passed away in her home on Palm Sunday, April 17, 2011. Elaine was born on July 25, 1925, to Glenn O. and Thora Kate Young of Sapulpa, Oklahoma. She attended Colorado Women's College and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with degrees in business and organ. She studied organ under Dr. Mildred Andrews, and was a member of Tri Delta Sorority. She was married to the love of her life, Ralph R. Marshall, and the mother of Carol, Randy and Sara. She was a charming, vivacious lady who loved life and greatly enjoyed her family and friends, especially the Petite Debutantes and the Black Feet. She had a heart for the Lord and was a believer in Jesus Christ. She was a member of Hoffmantown Church, Christian Women's Club, Bible Study Fellowship, and had played the organ for Grace, Immanuel Presbyterian, and Heights Churches. She was a missionary everywhere she went and had been on mission trips to Brazil, Argentina, Russia, Romania and Portugal. For many years she had been Secretary to the Bernalillo County Medical Association and NM Medical Society, a member of The Junior League, Republican Women of Albuquerque, Rotary Wives, American Organ Guild, Albuquerque Organ Guild, and taught business education at Sandia and El Dorado High Schools. Elaine was preceded in death by her adoring husband, Ralph R. Marshall; her parents, Glenn O. and Thora Kate Young; her brothers, Glenn A. Young and John Wallace Young. She is survived by her brother, David Young and sister, Dorothy Lawson; her three children, Carol (Larry) Taylor; Randy Marshall, and very special daughter-in-law, Mary Marshall; Sara (Greg) Early; eight grandchildren: Conner (Becky) Marshall, Stephen (Heather) Marshall, Matthew Marshall, Alison Marshall; Spencer (Ashley) Taylor, Kathryn (Trey) Adams; Seth Early and Callie Early; and Melody (Frank) Carrillo; three great-grandchildren: Thomas Marshall, Peter Marshall and Lily Marshall; and Isabel and Gabe Carrillo. Elaine delighted in entertaining, enjoyed reading, traveling and music. She was a devoted Bible student, an avid Prayer Warrior, and a true Patriot. She was special to many. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at French ~ University Location, 1111 University Blvd., NW. A private family burial will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, and a Memorial Service for friends and family will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Hoffmantown Church, 8888 Harper Dr., N.E.
