VALDEZ -- Tomasita Herrera Valdez, age 92, has gone home with our Lord. She was born in Carnuel, New Mexico on June 2, 1918, the daughter of Jose Herrera Y Paz and Augustina Garcia Herrera Y Paz. She is survived by her three sons, Augustine Herrera, Melly Garcia and his wife, Josie, and Eloy Garcia; 15 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren and many family members and friends. She will be missed. Tomasita was preceded in death by her parents; her children, Lydia Garcia, Silviano Garcia, and Vicki Bautista; her daughter-in-law, Stella Herrera; her grandson, Silviano Garcia, Jr.; her granddaughter, Yvonne Garcia; her great-granddaughter, Angela Garcia; and a baby great-grandson, Fabian Garcia. Services will be held at Holy Child Parish in Carnuel. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. followed by Memorial Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Carnuel Cemetery.
