HOLDEN -- R.M (Mock) Holden of Rio Rancho went to meet the Lord on February 20, 2011. He is survived by Ruth, his wife of 73 years; sons, Marshall and wife Gerry of Colorado, Robert and wife Diana of Iowa, Toby and wife Marilyn of Los Lunas, Jerry and wife Paula of Farmington; daughter, Carolyn and Harry Apodaca of Albuquerque. Mock is also survived by nine grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchildren; one brother; and two sisters. Mock was born in Shannon County, Missouri on August 10, 1921. He spent the majority of his younger years sawing timber. He served this Country in WWII as a member of the Army Air Corps. He saw service in the South Pacific on the islands of Pele lieu and Saipan. After an honorable discharge he returned to the timber business until he moved to New Mexico in 1956, where he worked in construction. He lived in Farmington, NM for 50 years until he relocated to Rio Rancho in 2006 to pursue his passion for the game of golf. He was a member of Chamisa Hills Country Club and will be sorely missed by his many golfing buddies. Mock touched many people in his near 90 years of life. He will be remembered much as the adage of Will Rogers, "I never met a man I didn't like." However, Mock never met a man that didn't like him. Services will be held at the Daniels Mortuary on Southern Avenue at 11:00 a.m. on February 23, 2011.
