COMPTON -- James "Jim" C. Compton Jr., 67, of Portales, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 43 years; two sisters and their families; two sons with their spouses; and two grandchildren. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law in 1968 he practiced business law in Albuquerque and Santa Fe for over 40 years. His love of practicing law was evident to his last day. Per Jim's wishes, no services are planned. The family would greatly appreciate donations and/or volunteer services to The Storehouse in lieu of flowers. His thoughtfulness, humility and endless curiosity will be missed.
