BLAIR -- Lt. Colonel, Retired Robert "Bob" C. Blair, born July 13, 1915, passed away December 9, 2010 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Bob grew up in Ohio and attended Ohio State University during the 1930's. He was a trainer for the Ohio State football team and assisted the famed radio broadcaster "Red" Barber during broadcasts of the Ohio State Buckeyes. Bob entered the United States Army Air Corps prior to World War II and served as a bombardier, navigator and trainer during the war. After the war Bob continued to serve in the Air Force in the Strategic Air Command and retired as a Lt. Colonel in 1961. He was a civilian employee of the Air Force at Kirtland Air Force base until his retirement in 1977. Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Elaine Wayt Blair. He is survived by his son, Richard Blair of Bayfield, Colorado. Services and interment will be held at 3:00 pm, Santa Fe National Cemetery, February 18.
