TRUJILLO -- Juan Horacio Trujillo, 82, of Alameda, formerly of Taos, New Mexico passed away at his home on February 3, 2011 attentively and selflessly cared for by grandaughters Angelica Sanchez (daughter to Anna) and Claudette Sandoval (daughter to Jake). The son of Celso and Matilde M. Trujillo, he grew up in Talpa (Taos), New Mexico. He was a loving husband, dad and grandfather (pappos).He had a proud, kind, gentle and generous nature. He treasured his many friendships from a life of work, hobbies and numerous fundraising efforts. He was involved with the Fiesta de Alameda since its inception and in fact, organized their first community matanza dinner. He was a member of the Alameda Lions, American Legion Post 69, Albuquerque Moose Family Center 1517. Dedication to the Moose fraternity earned him many awards as well as achievement of The Fellowship Degree. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Vickie Trujillo and children Anna Trujillo, Larry (Nancy) Trujillo, Elizabeth Trujillo and Patricia Trujillo, 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; his daughter Johanna (Jim) DeFlon and sons, Samuel (Yolanda) Trujillo, and Jake (Kathy) Trujillo. He will always be remembered for his love of the outdoors, fishing, hunting, picking buckets of pinon and his secret "hotcakes" recipe. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, February 13, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 9502 4th St NW, 898-5253. A mass will take place on Monday, February 14, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 9502 4th St NW, 898-5253.
