HAALAND -- Thomas E. Haaland died unexpectedly at the age of 58 in Camarillo, CA on December 2, 2010. Tom was born in Albuquerque, NM on August 12, 1952. He graduated from Del Norte HS in 1970 where he excelled academically, played the trumpet, and was a starter on the varsity basketball team. He graduated from the University of New Mexico with a BS Degree in math in 1974. After briefly working in Alamogordo, NM, he moved to Southern California where he worked with several companies as a systems analyst evaluating software used in satellite systems. While in California, Tom met Pat Kasuama at work, and they married in Las Vegas, NV more than 30 years ago and were devoted to one another. In 1995, they moved to the Washington, D.C. area where they continued to work as systems analysts for Lockheed Martin Corp. Tom retired in 2007, and he and Pat moved to Camarillo, CA to enjoy the great climate and a more relaxed lifestyle. Tom Haaland is survived by his wife Pat Haaland; his mother Christine Haaland; his siblings, John Haaland, David Haaland and wife Kathy, Jim Haaland, Vickie Paley and husband Tom Paley; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Albuquerque (1100 Indian School Rd. NE) on January 29, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Internment will follow the service at Sandia Memory Gardens at 9500 San Pedro NE. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Storehouse at 106 Broadway SE, Albuquerque, NM 87102.
