CHAVEZ -- Joseph F. Chavez,79 of Las Colinas Village Albuquerque, NM passed away January 16, 2011. Born in Santa Fe, NM in 1932. served in the United States Airforce in the Korean War. He Later moved to Billings, Montana where he worked for Conoco. He was a very creative and loving person who was involved in several community affairs including the BABA Boxing club Billings, MT in the 1980's. He also served as a minister for Our Lady of Gadalupe. He and wife Phyllis later retired to Lawrence, KS until her death in 2009. He then moved to Albuquerque to reconnect with family and friends in April 2010. He is preceded in death by his wife Phyllis M. Chavez. Survived by daughter, DeAnna L. Cox of Kansas City, MO; step-daughters, Sandy Caukins of Thorton, CO, Pamela A. Wold of Lawrence, KS; sister, Nicole Miller of Brookings, OR; loyal cousin and good friend, Andris Madrid of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Daniel T. Cox, Brandon M. Cox, Rachael L. Cox, Brandi A. Hudson, Joshua David Hudson, Scott Hudson, Wendy Hudson Welsh, Seth Calkins, Lisa Waddell English, Mindy Waddell dear several great-grandchildren and dear family and friends. Celebration of life service, January 29, 2011, 2:00 p.m. at Los Colinas Village, 500 Paisano Albuquerque, NM. Later Celebration to follow with final resting place in Greeley, CO the spring of 2011.
