CHACON -- Filia Chacon, 81, went home to be with Jesus on January 7, 2011. She was born October 1, 1929, in La Joya, New Mexico, to Miguel and Emma Griego. Filia is survived by her husband, Meliton Chacon of 58 years; daughter Suzette and husband Alfonso; daughter Deborah and husband Gary; granddaughters JiSan, Noel and Zoe; sisters Delmira Botello and Barbara DeCosta; many other loved ones and a host of friends. She is preceded in death by parents Miguel and Emma Griego, and brothers Benjamin, Levi, Nefi, Elfego, Aaron, and Salomon. Filia loved the Lord, life, her husband, and her family. Filia will be remembered for the love she showed others, her unwavering faith and devotion to the Lord, and her infectious smile. She will be deeply missed, never forgotten, eternally loved, and those who were privileged to know her will carry her in their hearts till journey's end. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 7601 Wyoming Blvd, NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87109. There will be a celebration of Filia's life on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 7601 Wyoming Blvd, NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico, 87107.
