GALLEGOS -- Raymond A. Gallegos, 71, resident of Albuquerque, passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Charlotte Gallegos; children, Marie Gutierrez and husband, Joseph, Carol Ann Sandoval and husband, Tim McCole, Michael Gallegos, John Sandoval, Robert Gallegos and wife, LouAnne, and Angela Gallegos; grandchildren, Alexandra and Samantha Gutierrez, Dana, Brittany, and Stevie Sevin, Shakkri Ortega, Robert and Michael Gallegos, Kameron, K'Lyn, Brooke, and Daryl Sandoval, Taylor and Brendan Gallegos, and Samantha and Matthew Cunico; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Quintana; special cousin, Ruben Gallegos; and sisters, Teresa Pino and husband, Gilbert, and Sylvia Chavez. Ray was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM to Jesus and Maria Luisa Gallegos. He attended St. Mary's High School, and as a young man began his lifelong career in business. As a teenager, he started work for Bueno Foods and later managed various retail stores. He eventually saved enough money to open his own restaurant, the first of many restaurants and lounges he acquired. His business ventures eventually took him to the area of Indian gaming. Ray became a pioneer in gaming, and as president of Gaim-Ko, he owned various casino operations in NM and TX. Up until the day of his death, he never stopped pursuing his passion for business. Friends may visit Friday, October 22, 2010, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at French - Westside. Rosary will be recited Saturday, October 23, 2010, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Rd. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated immediately following the Rosary.
