PADILLA SR. -- Procopio Eugenio "Gene" went to be with our Lord on September 22, 2010. He was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico on December 3, 1940 to Jose and Padilla Angelina and was a lifelong resident of Santa Fe, New Mexico. He graduated from Santa Fe High School in 1959 and served our country proudly in the U.S. Navy for an eight year term. He then returned to Santa Fe where he met his wife, Frances and married her in 1973. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He was a man of strong Catholic faith and had strong family values. He gave of himself without hesitation; always willing to help anyone who came along. He enjoyed carpentry and working with his hands. By the means of his talent, he made an ordinary piece of wood into many beautiful pieces of art. He loved his family and friends and showed a true devotion to all. He is survived by his son, Procopio Eugenio (Gene) Padilla Jr. and wife Roanna; grandchildren, Jasmine, Procopio and fiance, Courtney, Victorianna, Alejandro, Eugenio, Antonio, Emiliano, and Angelina. His brothers, Mike Padilla and wife, Berna, Charlie Padilla and wife, Vera, Tony Padilla, Ricky Padilla and wife, Liz, Steve Padilla, Jose Padilla and wife, Tammy. His sisters, Isabelle Benavidez and Gary Hanson, Margaret Chavez and Albert Pena, and Linda Perea and Richard Wheeler. Rosary to be held on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Child Parish in Carnuel, New Mexico. Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, October 1, 2010 with interment to follow at 10:30 a.m. at the National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jasmine Padilla, Procopio Padilla, Victorianna Padilla, Alejandro Padilla, Eugenio Padilla, Antonio Padilla, Emiliano Padilla, and Angelina Padilla.
