EVERETT -- Robert R.S. Everett (Bob, Pappy) 81 of Albuquerque, NM went to be with our Heavenly Father on September 14, 2010. Bob was born in New Tripoli, PA on August 14, 1929. He was raised on a farm speaking Pennsylvania Dutch and graduated from Slatington High School, where he played baseball, football, and studied German. Bob joined the Air Force when he was 19 years old and made his early career as an Aircraft mechanic. He was a medaled and honored veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Bob retired from the Air Force after proudly serving his country for 23 years. He then started his second career at Sandia National Laboratory after obtaining an Electronic Degree and retired in 1995. Bob was stationed at Sampson Air Force Base in Geneva, NY where he met his loving and beautiful wife, Phyllis, of 56 years. Bob and Phyllis traveled to numerous locations throughout his career in the Air Force. They settled in Albuquerque, NM to raise their five wonderful kids: Mark (Danna), Marianne (Marc), Michelle, Monica (Lee) and Shelly (Keith). Bob has been an active member of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish. He played many roles at the Church which included but not limited to: Eucharistic Minister, Usher, and someone they could trust with keys to lock the doors at night. Bob was also involved in numerous community programs, including the Optimist Club, Knights of Columbus, Senior Softball League and Senior Pinochle Card Club. Bob never missed any kind of an event for his five children; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was a mischievous fighter and a handyman, fixing anything he got his hands on, including roofs for neighbors and anything the kids tore up. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, hunting, fishing and any kind of sport. Most of all, though, Bob loved to watch and help his family grow, instilling in them faith, love, honor and service. Rosary will be recited Friday, September 17, 2010, 6:00 p.m., at French, Lomas Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, September 18, 2010, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, Father Edward Domme, Celebrant.
