STEWART -- Valdee B. "Dee," a resident of Albuquerque since 1973, passed away August 29, 2010. She was born March 24, 1928, in Jackson, MS, and was a Graduate of Mississippi State College for Women, class of 1949. Dee taught at Mississippi School for the Blind, Jackson, MS, and Centennial High School, Pueblo, CO. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Dr. Joseph L. Stewart; her son, Dr. Valley Stewart and his wife, Dr. Janine Lin; daughters Kathryn Love, and Patricia Stewart and her partner Denise Baker; and her granddaughter, Valerie Stewart. She was active in Manzano High School Boosters, UNM Centennial Committee, Blue Cross Shadows Neighborhood Association, and Chaparral Board of Directors of the Girl Scouts.
