ORTEGA -- Alex Jose Ortega, age 31, a resident of Veguita, N.M. joined our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. He was a member of San Isidro Catholic Church in Las Nutrias, NM. Alex's passion was art and he was well known for his many paintings and drawings. At only four years old his mother entered one of his drawings in NM State Fair. He loved the outdoors and he never missed an opportunity to go camping with family and friends. His outgoing personality easily drew people to him and he could make people laugh without even trying. He was such a joy to be around and his passing will leave a great void in his family. He was preceded in death by his uncle, Rudy Cordova. Alex is survived by his daughter, Janessa Ortega; mother, Kathy Reyes and husband, Presiliano; father, Alex Ortega and a very special step-mother, Sharon Ortega; very special maternal grandparents who were always there for him no matter what, Leo and Bernie Cordova; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Manuel Ortega and grandmother, Patsy Cordova; five siblings, Santiago Turietta, Alexzandra, Joseph, Dino and Desi Ortega. He is also survived by many loving uncles, aunts and cousins. Services will be held at San Isidro Catholic Church in Las Nutrias beginning with a visitation at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, August 30, 2010 with a Rosary to be recited by Angie Lovato at 9:30 a.m. and a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. with Father Dennis Dolter officiating. Interment will follow at San Isidro Catholic Cemetery. Urn Bearers will be his daughter, Janessa, Aunt Tina Romero, and Aunt Allison Lucero.
