METCALF -- Barbara Jean Metcalf passed away on August 27, 2010 at the age of 55, after a long battle with diabetes. Barbara is survived by her three children, Lisa Harmon, Ariel Harmon Metcalf, and Jett Metcalf; as well as her mother Jean Carty; and siblings Joel Carty and Jan Bryan. Barbara is also preceded in death by her much-loved father, Charles Carty. Barbara grew up in Dearborn, Michigan before moving to New Mexico, where she spent much of her life. Barbara touched many lives over the years and made many friends. She was an avid and reader and loved the arts. Barbara was also an extremely talented artist and seamstress. One of her greatest talents was a hand-made gift for family or friends, made with lots of love. Services will be held in her honor on Monday 30, 2010 at Sombra Del Monte Christian Church at 2525 Vermont St. NE.
