CORDOVA -- Maurice L. Cordova, 80, a resident of Albuquerque passed away at home on June 27, 2010. Mr. Cordova is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Elizabeth "Betty" Cordova; his children, Joe Cordova and wife, Yvonne; Mike Cordova and wife, Liz; Yolanda Fernandez; and Yvonne Rimbert and husband, Mark; his sister, Bernadette Padilla; ten grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one on the way. Mr. Cordova was a member of the Catholic Church. He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving during the Korean War. Mr. Cordova retired after 33 years of service from the New Mexico State Police. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 29, 2010 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Mr. and Mrs. Torres. Final Visitation will be Wednesday, June 30, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW, with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at St. Edwin Catholic Church, 2105 Barcelona Rd. SW, at 9:00 a.m., Father Bill Sanchez, presider. A committal service will be held on Friday, July 2, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with full Military Honors. Pallbearers will be Tommy Holder, George Ulibarri, Fred Garcia, Jess Sosa, Nick Saiz and Lee Gallegos; Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Fernandez Jr., Louie Morales, Ricky Rimbert and Jason Cordova.
