HOBBS -- James Francis, 83, resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2010. Jim was born September 25, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio, where he lived for 37 years. He moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he resided for the remainder of his life. He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Leon Hobbs; his mother Helen Glaser Hobbs; his sister Helen Rumbold; and his aunts, Bess and Sarah. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Maryanne Kline Hobbs; his children: Loretta (Lori) Lamb and her husband Edwin, Maryhelen (Cookie) Rader and her husband Tom, James Hobbs and his wife Debbie, and Edward Hobbs and his wife Susan; as well as grandchildren: Joe Lamb and his wife Lisa, Tammy Rael and her husband Felipe, Toney Evans and his fiancee Krystle, Chris Evans and his wife Desiree, Jennifer Hobbs, Heather Hobbs, and Edward Hobbs, and great-grandchildren Anna Smith, Haley Evans, and Clayton Evans. Jim proudly served his country as a Navy Seaman First Class in World War II from October 1944 to June 1946. After leaving the Navy, Jim began work as an auto mechanic and completed his career as a heavy equipment mechanic in 1992. There was nothing that Jim couldn't fix or build. His children and grandchildren constantly relied on his knowledge and expertise. Rosary and Eulogy will be held at Sangre de Christo Catholic Church on Monday, June 28, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 29, 2010. A loving and greatly loved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Jim will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Animal Humane Association of New Mexico would be greatly appreciated.
