MAXEY -- Leslie Maxey, 78, died Tuesday, May 25, 2010. He is survived by and will be dearly missed by his sons, Bruce and Barry Maxey and his wife Patricia Maxey. Leslie was a military retiree after 21 years of service with the U.S. Marine Corp and U.S. Air Force. Leslie continued working also retiring from Sandia National Labs after another 21 years of service. Leslie was a local business owner, avid runner completing the Duke City Marathon several times, and played on several World Champion Softball Teams. Leslie will be remembered for his tenacious work ethic and his sly sense of humor. Burial of cremains with Military honors will be held Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to The Retreat, call 891-1234 for details. The family wishes to thank the staff at The Retreat, Hospice De La Luz, and The Cottages for the care, support, and comfort they provided Leslie and his family members.
