GREEN -- Francis "Frank" Green, 90, died May 28, 2010. He is survived by his daughters, Sharmon Green and husband, Dan Sheppard of Aurora, CO and Rhonda Church and Dave Torrance of Duluth, MN; grandchildren, Richard, Doug and Alan Church and Austin Church and wife Kristina; great- grandchildren, Alyssa, Weston and Gavin. He is also survived by his longtime companion, Molly Wade; two sisters, Alene Blistein and Doris Turner; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Noel and Bertha Green; wife, Alma Jean; and three brothers; and one sister. He served his country during WW II in the United States Army Air Corps as flight instructor on B-24 Bombers and retired from the Dept. of Defense in 1977 after working at Edwards AFB and Holloman AFB in their rocket propulsion and missile development programs. While active in the New Mexico State Defense Force, he was promoted to Major General in May of 1999. Mr. Green received his Bachelors Degree from Phoenix Univ, Masters Degree in Engineering from West Coast Univ. He was instrumental in establishing federal credit unions across the state of NM. While a resident of Alamogordo he was an active member of the United Methodist Church. Services will be Wednesday, June 2, 2010, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, 9300 Golf Course Rd NW, with burial following at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Friends may visit Tuesday, 5-7 pm at French.
