KRAUS -- Jean Kraus, a resident of Albuquerque, died after a valiant fight against cancer on Tuesday, May 25, 2010. A loving, dedicated mother and wife, she is survived by her husband, John Scott Kraus, son, Alexander, and daughter Julia; sister Nancy Cooper-Castillo and husband Charles Castillo, mother Donna Doran, all of Albuquerque; brother Kelly Doran and wife Maria of Minneapolis, MN; sister Janis Griffin and husband Bill of Fairfield, CA; sister Maria Threat and husband John of Rochester MN; nephews Danny, Evan, Kramer, Michael, Justin, and Aaron; and nieces Alexandra and Sydney. Jean was a fixture at youth sports events, and the "team Mom" for her children's teams. She was famous for sponsoring team dinners consisting of "the best lasagna in town.' It's been said that her dinners were directly responsible for 70 percent of the team victories. She will be remembered fondly as a special person and a true inspiration to all. A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, May 28, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 3:00 p.m., also at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel. A reception will follow the service at the Kraus home.
