CARMODY -- James Carmody III died after a long illness Saturday, May 22, 2010. He was born December 27, 1934 in Socorro, NM. He is survived by his brother, Lee Roy Carmody and wife, Mary Helen of Albuquerque; children, Debbie Whited and husband, Michael of Lubbock, TX, Jackie Stewart and husband, Bill of Albuquerque, Yvonne Mahnesmith and husband, Steve of Rio Rancho, James Carmody IV and wife, Dawn of Albuquerque, Eric Forrest Carmody of Manassas, Virginia; nephews, Anthony Carmody of Albuquerque and Glen Carmody of Salt Lake City, UT; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, James Carmody Jr.; and mother, Jessie Carmody. Mr. C. retired from Sandia Labs in 1985 and from the restaurant business in 1990. He took courses at TVI and also worked as a teacher's aide there. Mr. C. will be remembered for his work ethic which is a legacy he passed on to his children. The family wants to recognize and express appreciation to Yvonne and Steve Mahnesmith who took Dad into their home and cared for him these last years. At his request, there will be no services.
