BARELA -- Violet Nancy, 84 passed away March 25, 2010 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. A lifetime resident, Violet was born to Edmund and Elenor (Cardova) Sanchez April 2, 1925. She was preceded in death by her husband, Al Barela and daughter, Yvonne Goeden. Violet is survived by her son; Vern Barela and his wife Diane, daughter; Carm Phillips and her husband Don. Six Grandchildren; Rick Goeden, Shane Goeden, Alicia Espinosa and her husband Mike, Jason Phillips, Brandi Kim-Elliot and her husband Dan and Monique Bischoff and her husband Rob. Violet's Great-grandchildren are LeAnne, Taylor, Riley, Laney, Braidan, Ashton, Kinzie, Caiden and Bregan. She was a longtime member of the Shrine of St. Bernadette and upon retiring from Sandia Labs, Violet volunteered for Catholic Social Services. Visitation will be held on Monday March 29, 2010 6:00p.m.-7:00pm and the rosary will be recited at 7:00pm in the Carlisle Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Service. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at the Shrine of St. Bernadette Catholic Church 11401 Indian School Road, NE on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at 9:00a.m. Violet will be laid to rest at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m., 501 Guadalupe, Santa Fe, NM.
