ARMENTA -- Yolanda Carol Armenta, 62, November 9, 1947 peacefully joined the Lord on March 3, 2010 in Phoenix, AZ after a long, courageous fight with cancer. Yolanda was preceded in death by her parents Jacobo and Margarita Armenta of Tijeras, NM. She is survived by her children Troy Gonzales and John Mercer, April Salvate and her husband John and Crystal Hendren and her husband Ricky; three grandchildren Chris Salvate, Amy Grant and Audreanna Hendren. Yolanda is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Joe and Rosie Armenta, Ethel and Gilbert Sandoval, Bob and Vivian Armenta, Jake and Daisy Armenta, Matt and Teresa Armenta, Clarence and Linda Armenta, Pauline and Gilbert Torres, Kathryn and John Palmer, Kathleen Cervantes and Daryl Armenta, and her special kitty cat PJ; and numerous nieces and nephews who loved her and will miss her dearly. Her brothers will serve as pallbearers. A rosary will be recited at Holy Child Parish in Tijeras, NM Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 12, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at John XXIII Catholic Community on 4831 Tramway Ridge Dr. NE, Albuq, NM with Rev. Arkad Bicak officiating, burial will follow at the Tijeras Cemetery, Tijeras, NM.
