STEIDER MCCAMPBELL -- Doris Steider McCampbell began her next journey on Sunday, February 28, 2010 at a youthful age of 85. She was an icon in the New Mexico art community and was also well known around the world by thousands of artists and collectors. Her innovative and masterful technique of painting was a unique, modern version of egg tempera, a medium used by many ancient masters. She graduated from Purdue University and earned her Masters degree in Fine Arts at the University of New Mexico. Doris inspired many in her personal and spiritual life, and was greatly loved by scores of family and friends. She defined beauty in countless ways as an artist and as a person. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll McCampell, in 1999. She is survived by her long time friend and companion, Arbon Lang; her children Kris Latham and husband Gerald, Bob Steider and wife Brenda, Tim Steider and wife Amy; her step-children Jeff McCampbell and wife Patty, Joan Sleeter and husband David; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren with one more to arrive this summer. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2010, 2:00 p.m. at Sandia Presbyterian Church, 10704 Paseo Del Norte NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
