BOUTZ -- Emma Lee Boutz, age 97, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 16, 2010. A resident of Albuquerque since 1920, she attended Albuquerque High and majored in music at the University of New Mexico. She was an accomplished violinist, and played with the Albuquerque Civic Symphony from its inception through the war years. She was a member of Pro Musica for decades. Her career changed during Roosevelt's administration when she got her masters in social work, and worked for Health and Social Services until her retirement in 1974. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Paul, and survived by her children: Dr. John and Karon Boutz, Gretchen Montano and Allen Gilbert, and Stephanie Boutz and Greg Snover, all of Albuquerque. She has 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Salvation Army, P.O Box 27690, Albuquerque, NM, 87125-7690.
