BACA -- Elfides A. Baca, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2010. Elfides was born on March 27, 1921 in Guadalupe, NM to Mariano and Manuelita (Lucero) Apodaca. She is survived by her sons; Valentin Baca, II and wife Rita of Albuquerque, Ernie Baca and wife Carolyn of Colorado Springs, CO four grandchildren; Anna Marie Holstrom, Frances Montano, Allen Baca, and Elaine Baca, three great-grandchildren; Jacob Baca, Ashlee Baca and Cora Holstrom. Elfides was a life long resident of Albuquerque and is preceded in death by her husband Valentin Baca; and her daughter Cora Baca. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A Visitation will be at 6:00 p.m., Monday, February 22, 2010 with reciting of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. in the Stover Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at St. Therese Catholic Church. Interment will follow at a later date.
