WHEATLEY -- Alice M. Wheatley, 97, a resident of Albuquerque since 1953, died Thursday, February 4, 2010. She is survived by her children, Phyllis J. Latham and husband, Jesse of Republic, KS and Thomas E. Wheatley of Corpus Christi, TX; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Wheatley was preceded in death by her husband, George O. Wheatley. She was born in Superior NE, and lived in KS, CA, CO and NV before settling down in Albuquerque. Quilting was a passion of hers. Mrs. Wheatley was a member of the National Quilting Association as well as being active in the Fourth St. Senior Center, the Candelaria Community Center, as well as many other quilting groups. Friends and family may visit French ~ Wyoming Chapel on Thursday, February 11, 2010, 10:00 a.m. until the Funeral Services beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sandia Memory Gardens, 9500 San Pedro NE.
