TRASK -- Sophie Marie "Babe" Trask passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Boswell Hospital in Sun City, AZ. She is survived by her husband, Richard Trask of Surprise, AZ; daughter, Pam Brosman (Jeff) of Mesa, AZ; sons, Rick Trask (Kathi) of Clovis and Jeff Trask of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Jennifer Schupp (Charles) of Clovis, Mark Trask (Lisa) of Las Vegas, NV, Jessica Koldoff (Jeff) of Alexandria, VA and Andrea Wingate (John) of Phoenix, AZ; great-grandson, Richard Apodaca of Clovis; sisters, Inge Ahlgrim, Betty Sharp (Lowell), Gertrude Finley and Margaret Carroll all of Albuquerque; and many special in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Edward Hendricks and Carl Hendricks, Jr. Babe was born on June 19, 1925 in Albuquerque to Carl and Emilie Hendricks, the youngest of seven children. She graduated from Albuquerque High and married Richard Allen Trask on January 5, 1947, recently celebrating their 63rd anniversary. During the first years of marriage she worked for a local car company. Babe's greatest joy was being a homemaker, wife and mother. Her homemade cookies, popcorn balls and radiant smile were a delight to all who knew her. Babe enjoyed the many times they spent at their trailer in Ruidoso while going to the horse races. Laughlin, NV was another favorite spot. She liked doing crossword puzzles as well as playing cards and Yahtzee with friends and family. For years, she was an active member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Albuquerque where she taught Sunday School. Babe and Richard moved to The West/Surprise, AZ area about 12 years ago. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2010, 1:30 p.m., at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum 924 Menaul Blvd NE with Jeff Brosman officiating. Ennichement will follow immediately after the service at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
