MONTIEL -- Charles Gregory Montiel Sr., age 39 of Albuquerque, went to be with God on Thursday, February 4, 2010. He was born December 2, 1970 at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, NM. He was reared in Albuquerque's North Valley and attended La Luz ES, Garfield MS, Valley HS and graduated from Albuquerque Evening HS in 1989. As an adult he divided his time between Albuquerque and Las Vegas, NV. His favorite casino was the Bellagio. He is survived by his children, Charles Gregory Montiel Jr. and Jacqueline Miranda Montiel; his parents Louie S. Montiel and Maria Dolores Montiel (nee Cortez); along with his siblings Maria Cabrera; Julia Hernandez; Cynthia Pettit; Steve Montiel and Antonio Montiel; 15 nieces and nephews; and nine great-nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place Monday, February 8, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. and will follow with a Rosary and wake at 7:00 p.m. at Riverside Funeral Home, 225 San Mateo Blvd NE. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St Therese Catholic Church, 300 Mildred Ave NW. Pallbearers will be his nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted. Arrangements by Riverside Funeral Home.
