YOUNG -- John Robert Young, age 90, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2010 at the Veteran's Administration Hospice Facility in Tucson, AZ. Mr. Young grew up in Lawton, MI, the third son of Dr. William Rae and Elizabeth Young. A graduate of the University of Michigan, he began his professional career as a mechanical engineer for the Blood Brothers Machine Division in Allegan, MI which eventually became a division of Arvin Meritor. He retired from the Troy, MI office in 1976 and moved to Rio Rancho, NM where he lived until 2003. He moved to Green Valley, AZ and then to Tucson, AZ. Mr. Young was widowed in 2000 when his beloved wife of over 56 years, Pauline A. "Pat" Young, passed away after a long illness. He is survived by his daughter, Oakland County Circuit Judge Joan E. Young, Bloomfield, MI; and son-in-law Thomas L. Schellenberg; granddaughters Katy (Michael) Lewis of Chicago, Illinois, and Andrea (Jeremy) Manning of Springfield, Pennsylvania; daughter Carol Nowotny-Young of Tucson, Arizona; and his sister Kathy Wilson of Orange City, Florida. A memorial service was held on January 23, 2009 at the Adair Funeral Home in Tucson, AZ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a favorite charity.
