RUTH -- Emma Mary (Ritter) Ruth was born November 20, 1920 in Berks County, Pennsylvania and passed away on December 2, 2009 in Arvada, Colorado at the age of 89. A family rosary was held at Olinger Woods Chapel in Golden, CO. on Sunday evening, December 6, 2009. Her memorial mass was celebrated at St. John of Arc Catholic Church in Arvada Co. on December 7, 2009. Family and friends gathered afterward to share memories and honor a life well-lived. Her kindness and smile will be missed by everyone who knew Emma. She is survived by six children: John Ruth of Ojai, CA; Robert Ruth and wife Judith Griego-Ruth of Albuquerque, NM; Gary Ruth and wife Kim of Victoria, TX.; Francis Ruth and wife Gloria of Aztec, NM; Thomas Ruth of El Paso, TX; Josephine Wheeler and husband Michael Wheeler of Lakewood, Co. She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Ruth, her parents, Mary (Schaeffer) and Robert Ritter. Emma has 21 grand-children and 21 great grand-children. Emma served as a WAC in the US Army during WWII; she was stationed in Albuquerque, NM and Warrington, England, where she met and married her husband John Ruth of Philadelphia, PA. who was also serving in the US Army. A private service will be held at Ft. Logan National Cemetery with military honors.
