GEYSELAERS -- Maria Elisabeth "Lisa" Geyselaers, 75, of Brookfield, CT, widow, of Martin Eugene Geyselaers, passed away on January 23, 2010, while visiting her daughter in New Mexico. Lisa was born on January 26, 1934, in Berg en Terblijt, Netherlands, daughter, of the late Joseph and Maria Pluymaekers. She moved to Danbury in 1957 to be with her husband, who had already been living in the United States for a year. The couple moved from Danbury to Brookfield in 1963, where she had been living ever since. She worked as a seamstress in the Netherlands, and at Whisconier Middle School in Brookfield in the 1980's. With her husband, two children, and two grandchildren, Lisa enjoyed traveling all over Europe and the U.S. She also enjoyed knitting, making greeting cards, and spending time with her two beloved grandchildren. Lisa is survived by her daughter, Analise McHale, of New Mexico; her son, Lawrence Geyselaers of Brookfield and Megan Martin of New York City; her two grandchildren, Dillon of Brookfield and Christopher of New Mexico; brother, Remy Pluymaekers and wife, Tony of Berg en Terblijt, Netherlands; sister-in-law, Ann Najamy and Partner, Artie Lehman of New York; brother-in-law, Sam Geyselaers and wife, Bobbie of Vermont; sister-in-law, Minni Ubags of Berg en Terblijt, Netherlands; and many other friends and relatives in both the United States and the Netherlands. Lisa was predeceased by her husband, Martin, her brother, Jean Pluymaekers of the Netherlands, and her sister, Helena "Leny" Geyselaers of Danbury. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 1959 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY, 10018, in memory of her husband, Martin.
