HART -- Emma Jean Hart, "Jean" was born October 7, 1931. She passed from this Earth on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at home. She was a resident of Albuquerque, NM, and Pagosa Springs, CO, where she had a second home, her cabin. Jean was active in church in Albuquerque and Colorado. Jean will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, friend, and all around matriarch. She proudly worked for the University of New Mexico Library, having retired in 1997. Jean loved to travel in and around Europe and thoroughly enjoyed discovering new family connections in England. As well, she loved to attend Hartshorn Family reunions. Jean cherished preserving valuable and irreplaceable heirlooms, and collecting any and all things with a chicken motif. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward James Hart; and by her second husband, Ernie Chavez; and by her son, Robert A. Hart. Jean is survived by two sons, Roger Hart and wife Tracy of Loveland, CO and Rodney Hart; daughter-in-law, Allyson Hart of Massachusetts; four grandchildren, Ashley, Allyssa, Avalon, and Addison; brother, Donald Hartshorn and wife Ginette of California; and a host of extended family members and many dear friends who loved and will miss her. A Memorial Service will be held at Central United Methodist Church, 1615 Copper Ave NE, on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., with a reception following.
