LIPTAK -- Stephen C. Liptak, 83, passed away on January 1, 2010. He was born September 18, 1926, in Clifton, NJ, to Stephen and Mary (Kozak) Liptak. Stephen was a resident of Albuquerque since 1982. He was a Marine during WWII, serving in the Pacific Theatre. Stephen was also a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church and gardening was one of his favorite pastimes. He is survived by son, Charlie Bihun (Aura) and their children Charles and Christina of St. Thomas, PA; daughters, Marsha Merillat (Jeff) of Albuquerque, NM, and Sharon Duffy (Richard) of Golden, CO, and her children, Cheryl Brandes and Joel Monroe; sister, Janet Bothner (Karl) of Danbury, CT; and brother, James Liptak (Phyllis) of Hopatcong, NJ. Stephen was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 50 years, Ann, in 2002. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2010, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Daniels Family on Wyoming. Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, January 7, 2009, at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 811 Guaymas Pl NE, with burial to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
