LEE -- Chi Hao (Edwin) Lee was born in Shanghai, China in 1924. He obtained his M.D. from St. John's University Medical School in Shanghai in 1948, and interned at St. Elizabeth Hospital, also in Shanghai. Edwin completed his Fellow at Medical College of Virginia from 1948-49, and Post Doctoral study at Harvard Medical School from 1949-51. His long medical career as a pediatrician took him through Resident at Charity Hospital of New Orleans, LA 1951-52, Chief Resident at Children's Hospital of Chattanooga, TN 1952-53, Chief Resident at Children's Hospital of Corpus Christi, TX 1953-57. Instructor at Tulane Medical School of New Orleans, LA 1951-52, Clinical Assistant Professor at Baylor University School of Medicine 1953-59, Assistant Medical Director at Children's Hospital of Corpus Christi, TX 157-59, Staff Pediatrician at Austin State School in TX 1959-61, Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics 1954, Fellow at American Academy of Pediatrics 1958, and finally private practice in NJ from 1962-91. Edwin's wife Irene is also a native of Shanghai. They were married in 1962. Edwin had broad interests in life. In 1997 he was awarded a U.S. Patent for inventing a "breathing enhancer". He loved to read, listen to good music, watch sports on TV, and was a consummate ballroom dancer. Edwin was also an outspoken person. He frequently wrote to editors and politicians, with his letters often being published. Once he wrote to syndicated columnist Dave Barry about some serious deficiencies in the English language, and Dave agreed with him! Edwin also has published articles in pediatric journals. Edwin humbly pronounced himself an Agnostic throughout his life. Edwin is survived by his wife Irene, a son who is an internist, and a daughter who is an engineer at Intel.
