MARTIN -- Cmdr. Roy James "Jim" Martin, US Navy Retired, 91, died December 11, 2009. He is survived by his children Mary E Donato of Albuquerque, Betty C Newell and husband Terry of Peralta, NM and Pete Martin and wife Karen Reiner of Eagle Creek, OR; five grandchildren Arlynn, Tony, Darcy, Jenna and husband Jesse, Eddie and wife Monica; 12 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; brother John and wife Veranne of Prescott, AZ and numerous other family and family friends. Jim was preceded in death by his wife Beverly; grandson Nick; and great-grandson Marc; sister Hope; and brother Bob. Mr. Martin served in the US Navy during WW II and in the Navy Reserve before retiring in 1978. He also worked at Sandia National Labs over 20 years before retiring in 1978. Memorial services will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
