SCHULTZ -- Yvonne Doreen Schultz died on Friday, November 27, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer. Yvonne was born June 4, 1940, to Hans and Mimi Thorsgaard, of Bottineau, ND. She graduated from Bottineau High School in 1958, and then attended the Humboldt Institute in Minneapolis. She and Virgil Schultz, were married in 1959, and the couple had three sons. During the years Yvonne was raising her sons, she worked for Northwest Bell Telephone, the Selective Service System, the U.S. Forest Service, and the Bottineau Farmers Elevator. In 1980, Yvonne and her three sons relocated to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she went to work for US West Communications. She later retired from the company. Yvonne was a kind and compassionate individual who devoted her life to her family. She was generous with her time and energy, spending many years caring for family members as well as working part-time as a devoted caregiver for others, giving countless hours to those in need. Yvonne is survived by her three devoted sons, Douglas Schultz, Bradley Schultz, and Mitchell Schultz; brother, Allan Thorsgaard; sister, Betty Magnuson; and brother-in-law, Eugene McCafferty, all of the Albuquerque area; grandson, Paul Schultz; great-grandchildren, Bryleigh Yvonne Schultz and Isaac Scott Schultz, of Boise, Idaho; sister-in-law, Kay Thorsgaard, of Bottineau; and many, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Harvey Thorsgaard and Marlin Thorsgaard, and a sister, Rosemary McCafferty. A private graveside service was held on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at Fairview Memorial Park. On line condolences may be submitted at danielsfuneral.com.
