MULLIN -- Helena Elizabeth Henneberry Mullin, of Albuquerque NM, died peacefully on Sunday, November 22, 2009, at the age of 88. She has joined her beloved husband, Laurence, at last. She was born in New York City to Matthew and Ellen Henneberry, the youngest of three sisters. Mary and Kathleen predeceased her; as did her parents. Helena had a varied life for a woman of her times. She joined the Navy during World War II and served in California as a seaman and storekeeper. Upon her discharge, she returned to New York where she engaged in an array of jobs, including employment as a budget director for Time Life, Inc., as a social worker for Catholic Charities and ultimately as a realtor in New Jersey, where she met her husband. They married in 1979, fell in love with New Mexico on a visit, and moved here in 1986. Both before and after her marriage, Helena travelled extensively and took spectacular photographs of her travels. Helena kept her family, friends and staff at the Laurel Canyon nursing home in stitches with stories of her adventures and her quick Irish wit. Before Helena became a member of Risen Savior Catholic Community, she and her husband had been very active members at St. Charles Borromeo. She is survived by her niece Elizabeth Dromey and husband Rachid Belhocine of Belmont, MA, her nephew John Dromey and wife Patricia of Woburn MA, her nephew Peter Conway and wife Suzanne of Marblehead MA and their children Carolyn and Tyler, her niece Susan Conway and husband Robert Levy, of Albuquerque, and her great-niece Jane Levy and husband, Scott Levy and their child Oliver of Albuquerque. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday, December 7, 2009, 10:00 a.m., at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming N. E. Those who wish to express their condolences may do so at www.danielsfuneral.com. Helena's care had been entrusted to Daniels Family Funeral Service Carlisle Chapel, 3113 Carlisle N.E. Albuquerque, New Mexico 87110.
