ESPARZA -- Diana L. Esparza, 56, a resident of Albuquerque formerly of Gallup, NM, passed away on November 18, 2009. Mrs. Esparza is survived by her beloved husband of 35 years, Mr. Ernest Esparza; her children, Shawndai Esparza, and J.R. LaBerge-Esparza and husband, Craig; her mother, Flora Mae Gonzales; sisters, Antoinette Maes-Gonzales and daughter, Alicia, and Beverly Gonzales; her brother, Raymond Gonzales; grandchildren, Jacob and Deandra Andrade; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, Godchildren, cousins and friends. Mrs. Esparza was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Buddy Gonzales. Visitation will be Saturday, November 21, 2009 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Church of the Ascension, 2150 Raymac SW, with a Rosary to be recited at 11:00 a.m. by the Legion of Mary. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m., Father Edmund Savilla, presider. Mrs. Esparza was a member of the Catholic Church; a member of the Old Town Optimist Club; and assisted with many local political campaigns. Mrs. Esparza was a dedicated employee of Bernalillo County, in several capacities, for 25 years. A committal service will be held Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, at 11:00 a.m, Deacon Juan Martinez, presider.
