LUJAN -- Robert Lujan, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Saturday, October 24, 2009. Robert was born July 29, 1948 to Bartolo Lujan Sr. and Beatrice Aragon. Robert graduated from Valley High School and attended trade school, and then served his country in the Army during the Vietnam conflict. Robert's interests and hobbies included metal working, hunting, especially bow hunting, and his grandchildren. He worked as a machinist at Noor Manufacturing for many years. Robert was active at his church, Celebration Baptist in Rio Rancho. He was instrumental in the construction of the current building. His many projects include the rear fire escape staircase and portions of the sanctuary. His family was important to Robert. He spent many hours around his home, with his children and grandchildren, and looked forward to yearly hunting trips with his sons. Robert was always ready and willing to tackle any project he could, including projects around the house, or building targets for the Kirtland AFB gun range. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother James. He is survived by his first wife, Mary Ortega; his wife of twenty-six years Jo Ann; sons Michael and William; step-sons James and Jon, 12 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Aggie Lujan, Betty Acosta, Dolores Castro, and Mary Baunach; his brothers, Bart Lujan, Joseph Lujan, and Walter Aragon, along with numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held, Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Celebration Baptist Church, 5620 Laredo Drive, Rio Rancho with Pastor David Brittain officiating. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to your favorite charity in Robert's name, or that individuals purchase and plant a tree in his memory.
